The next generation of Adobe ? AIR ? for BlackBerry ? Tablet's PlayBook ? has arrived! With the availability of the new Adobe ? AIR ? 2.7 runtime, developers will have complete support for Adobe Flex ? and Adobe ? ActionScript for the Tablet BlackBerry's PlayBook. The new runtime of Adobe AIR is now available for free to owners of BlackBerry tablet's PlayBook, which can be downloaded via Wi-Fi ? by using the option "check for updates" on the device.

Adobe AIR 2.7 is designed to allow you to leverage your work across different platforms, devices and form factors. According to Adobe (based on April 2011 Evans research data), over 3 million developers currently use the products of Adobe AIR and Adobe Flash ?. The technology has been adopted enthusiastically by developers tablet BlackBerry's PlayBook.

For developers who are using the latest version 4.5 of Adobe ? Flash ? Builder, several steps previously required for compatibility with BlackBerry tablet's PlayBook is not needed anymore. Moreover, Research In Motion ? (RIM ?) has updated the plug-in for Adobe Flash Builder and is designed to make it even easier to develop for the BlackBerry tablet's PlayBook. Also, Adobe has been incorporated to add the updated version of Adobe Flash Builder 4.5.1, meaning that all developers Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 you will now see the BlackBerry tablet device as a targetable's PlayBook. Developers still need to download BlackBerry ? OS Tablet for the Adobe AIR SDK from the BlackBerry Developer Zone, and the new SDK requires developers to have Adobe AIR 1.0 or later.
