What you have seen here is a project by Arthur Nishimoto, a grad student who, at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The project is Commander of the fleet and Nishimoto developed at the electronic visualization (EVL) at the aforementioned College laboratory, and it is easily one of the games more cool Star Wars never made.

Commander of the fleet is made for a screen large multi-touch 20 feet with a resolution of 8,160 x 2,304. It is a real-time strategy game that allows the user to order a star fleet. This includes some large boats, which much out of small vessels.

You can watch a video after the jump, so you can see it in action, and it is a very impressive action. I have no idea if the sound effects were added later, or if they are part of the game. In any event, it is a game I want to play.

Commander of the fleet is one of these games is the dream of any geek. You take the command of an armada of Star Wars, brothel of shit! This game has clearly need a kind of platform to be played. Perhaps if Nintendo wanted to take a step, they would make a console with a multi-touch display this great and forget the u Wii.

There is perhaps some is Lord of the rings game so you could argue against the armies of Sauron of Mordor. Yeah, that would kick the market of video games console at top speed!
