Project mimesis uses sand to create a virtual landscape

I imagine that one of the most difficult things in the life to imitate in 3D computer graphics is Pierre.

Some of you might remember the canyons in the cars that looked like fins on an Impala, but if you really want a landscape virtual realistic canyon? With the project mimesis, you need is to sand and a special sensor.

This is one such technology that you see to believe, is why included a video after the jump, so you can see it in action. You can see the lights of sensor from top to bottom that create a more colourful world of sand, and how to shape sand Exchange digital counterpart.

You can see in the video game that Monobanda, the developers of this technology, intend to use their sandbox to game graphics emulator. They already have some crazy type of game with bouncing balls, and it seems that this is rigged a Xbox 360 controller.

I see not the technology used by the player create user-driven content. Do you really want an accessory of game you need to constantly use the autour according vacuum? Or a sandbox in the room, elsewhere?

Yes, this looks like something that would use the developers of games, but the technology for the project mimesis is still "in development".
